In February 2006, Highpower invested 5 million to establish advanced research and development center. R&D center with more than 100 senior technicians covers an area of 1,000㎡ and equips professional Trial Production Workshop, Formation Inspection Room, Performance Test Room, Chemical Laboratory, Material Analysis Room. Our R&D team consists of senior electrochemical researchers, Doctors, Masters and Bachelors of Science. Highpower has attracted more and more well-known exports in battery field. Within the team, 3 people hold Physical Doctor Degree, 11 people with Master degree and 75 people with Bachelor degree. Our vice president of research and development center who with the background of Dr. metallurgical physical chemistry, Master of applied chemistry, Bachelor of electrochemistry, materials and metallurgical physical chemistry, engaged in studying cells more than 20 years and his applications for six invention patents and a utility model patents were all authorized successfully by the State. What’s more, our vice president was elected as the representative of the Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association in China, the commissioner of National Alkaline Batteries Standardization Technical Committee, a member of National Hydrogen Storage Alloy Standardization Technical Committee, an expert member of Shenzhen Science and Technology Experts Treasury, an expert member of Longgang District Science and technology Experts Treasury.

The R&D team engaged in year-around battery research projects and has achieved fruitful results. At present, Highpower has acquired the right to use Ovonic Ni-MH battery patent and dry production technology. Moreover, various patents for different technology research & developed by our own R&D people have been approved by China Patent Office.

In September 2006, Highpower Cooperated with Central South University setting Highpower R&D centre as Post-Doctor Research base of Central South University.
In September 2007, “Shenzhen Science and technology innovation award from 2005 to 2007” by Shenzhen Government.
In October 2008, “Ready to Use NI-MH Battery” get the cognizance of independent innovation product and is listed in prior purchasing listing of government.
In November 2008, “Superior Corporation in Intellectual Property Rights” by Shenzhen Government.
In November 2009, R&D center was authorized to be the Test Center of Freudenberg Nonwovens Separator (China).
